The Chicago Tribune Weighs in on One-Word Titles



Glancing over at my bookshelf, it’s clear that writers love one-word titles: Choke (Chuck Palahniuk); Success (Martin Amis); Amsterdam (Ian McKewan); Vox (Nicholson Baker). ¬†But how often does title minimalism really resonate?

Check out writer¬†Julia Keller’s reaction to the current crop of thrillers sporting one-word titles (Inception, SALT, etc) as well as her list of all-time winners and all-time duds.
